"Nature4Cities. Tools for Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions in City Context: The Case Study of Milan" is a chapter in a 2022 book entitled, "Nature-based Solutions for Sustainable Urban Planning. Greening Cities, Shaping Cities", that I reviewed for clarity, technical precision, and English quality. It was developed within the framework of the Nature4Cities Horizon 2020 project, and it aims at identifying a strategy that can help municipalities with nature-based solution implementation, analyzing the main barriers and opportunities for their exploitation of these innovative green solutions.
I was the Volume Editor for Environmental Sciences Proceedings, an international, peer-reviewed Open Access journal. The volume contains 33 papers resultant from the Sustainable Places 2021 conference which gathered more than 150 European projects representing €850 million in R&D and 1500 research-performing organizations.
This position paper ("2050 vision for 100% renewable heating and cooling in Europe"), which I reviewed for English quality and technical precision, was published by the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-ETIP). It is the result of the joint effort of a pool of experts from industry and research, divided into four multidisciplinary working groups, respectively focusing on individual buildings, cities, districts, and industries.
I edited and co-wrote "Sustainable District Cooling Guidelines" published by the International Energy Agency Technology Collaboration Programme on District Heating and Cooling, including Combined Heat and Power (IEA DHC). The paper summarises the state of the art of district cooling technology and development, and it is meant to serve as a resource for all who are interested in providing sustainable cooling.
